Raymond Weil company has legal proceedings with Hollywood actress Charlize Theron
10 February 2007The Swiss watch making company Raymond Weil has brought an action against Hollywood actress Charlize Theron actress for the infringement of the contract. According to the application of the company, Charlize Theron has broken the obligation to appear on public only in Raymond Weil watch. The claim has been directed to the New York court.
The “Oscar” winner, Charlize Theron was the face of the Swiss company since 2005. As well as good watch do, Olivier Bernheim, Raymond Weil’s chief, said, Charlize also personified “beauty, style and perfection “, promising “the moment of pure magic where the time, apparently, disappears in the air”. However 18 months later, after the photos of Charlize, putting on watch of the firm-competitor have appeared in the Internet, relations between the actress and the businessman have totally deteriorated.
As it became known, Theron had managed to sign up the contract with Christian Dior and has appeared on the photos, made during a film festival in Austin in March of the last year, with watch of this firm. David Jaroslawicz, the Raymond Weil’s lawyer said that Charlize has signed the exclusive contract, for which she has been generously paid and, nevertheless, she has broken the basic term.
While the sum of the claim is not disclosed, however, as lawyer Raymond Weil has informed, the firm plans to compensate, at least, expenses (nearby 20 million dollars) on an advertising campaign with Theron’s participation.
31-year-old Тheron has been cooperating with Dior for a very long time. In 2005 the actress has signed the three-million contract with the company and became the face of J’adore aroma. Except for perfumery, Charlize also advertises clothes and the accessories of this company.
