Angelina Jolie has visited camp for refugees in Chad
27 February 2007On Tuesday Angelina Jolie, the UN Goodwill ambassador has finished her two-day mission in camp of refugees of Darfur. This visit allowed Jolie to estimate whether the situation of safety has worsened for Sudanese refugees since her last visit in 2004.
Jolie, who managed to visit both Chad and Darfur of the next Sudan on behalf of UNHCR mission three years ago, has told, that she has been amazed by sense of hope, which she has faced in Oure-Cassoni camp and widespread desire of forces on maintenance of the peace to be developed in Chad.
The actress has also expressed her thoughts concerning the difficulty and suffering in camp.
Jolie said that sometimes refugee women are sexually and physically offended because of the inability of the government to help to guarantee the refugee safety.
At school, Jolie listened to children’s stories of their every day life, their problems and their hopes for one day, coming back to their houses in Darfur. Later, the actress has visited mentally ill Darfur refugees.
