“Mamma Mia!” is on the TV
14 January 2007Musical “Mamma Mia! “, based on the well-known songs of group ABBA, will be brought into the TV version. A well-known actress Merryl Streep is going to be a guest star of the film. It is the first time that she will play in a musical film. The Universal Pictures is negotiating with potential producers. The shootings are to be charged to the theatrical director Fillide Lloyd.
The plot of the musical is developed at the sea coast in Greece. The future bride, her mother (Streep) and three men, each of whom could be the father of the girl, are in the center of the film. However, all of them are invited to the wedding.
In a musical that has nothing common with a plot of the songs, hits “Dancing Queen “, “Take a Chance on Me “, “The Winner Takes It All” and others are sounded. Benn Andersson and Bjorn Ulves, the former participants of the АВВА, are among the producers of the musical. The musical has been already represented in Moscow.
