Forbes has published the list of the most expensive divorces
13 April 2007The first place in the most expensive divorces rating is occupied by the well-known American basketball player Michael Jordan. He had to give his former wife Juanita Jordan a half of his capital that is more than $150 million.
Forbes magazine has published the list of ten most “expensive” divorces among celebrities. The rating is made on the basis of interview, mass-media messages and judicial documents and includes only the divorces, which have occurred within the last 25 years. The places were distributed depending on the sum of the compensation, paid by one spouses.
The second place is given to Neil Diamond and Marcia Murphey, who split up in 1994. Then the singer has paid 150 million dollars to his ex-spouse, having noticed, that she “costs each penny”.
The producer Steven Spielberg, who has married Amy Irving, is on the third place. The producer has paid $100 million for “freedom”.
Hollywood actor Harrison Ford and his ex-wife Melissa Mathison are on the fourth place (85 million dollars); Kevin Costner and his ex-wife Cindy Silva occupy the fifth position, their divorce cost “just” 80 million dollars.
The other star top-ten leaders are located in the following order: Paul McCartney and his ex-wife Heather Mills are on the sixth place, James Cameron and Linda Hamilton are on the seventh place, Michael and Diandra Douglas - on the eighth place, Lionel and Diane Richie occupy the ninth place and the tenth lace is given to Mick Jagger and his ex-wife Jerry Hall.
